Hardman Full Marathon – Gap of Dunloe

This is your chance to run Ireland’s most challenging full marathon through the legendary Gap of Dunloe. With breathtaking views around every bend you will hardly notice the hills. Keep in mind that what goes up must also come down.

Sunday the 17th of November at 9am.

How many places are available?

200 places.

Are postal entries available?

No.

Will anything be posted out beforehand?
No. Numbers, chip, t-shirts will all be collected at registration.
What about medals?
Only when you finish.
When does registration take place?

On Saturday the 16th of November from 5 to 7pm at Portwest Outdoor shop New Street Killarney. Then again between 7am and 8.30am on Sunday the 17th at the race finish area at Kate Kearney’s Cottage.

Is my entry transferable/refundable?
No. Once you enter there is no refund and no transfer.
Are there changing facilities and showers available on the day?

No.

What about parking?
There is ample parking at Kate Kearney’s Cottage.
Where does the race begin?

The race begins at Kate Kearney’s Cottage.

Where does the race finish?
The race finishes at Kate Kearney’s Cottage.
Will there be pacers on the day?
No.
Are there hydration stations on the course?
Yes, at at approximately 10km, 20km and 30km.
What is at this station?

Water. Bananas, biscuits, and chocolate will also be supplied at the turnaround point.

Is there a cut-off time?

Yes, 6 hours.

Are there prizes for the top finishers?
There are prizes for the top 3 men and the top 3 women and also for age groupers. Please see the section on the site.
Are there any good viewing points for spectators?
Many. The top of the Gap is probably the best to see runners coming from both sides.
What happens at the finish line?
When you finish there you will be presented with your medal. There is a finisher’s area at the line where competitors can relax and enjoy a hot drink, sandwich, fruit, chocolate bars etc.
When is the prizegiving?

In Kate Kearney’s Cottage at 3pm.

2nd male/female: €100 per race
3rd male/female: €50 per race
40-44 age group*: €1st male/female: €25 per race
45-49 age group*: 1st male/female: €25 per race
50-54 age group*: 1st male/female: €25 per race
Over 60 age group*: 1st male/female: €25 per race
Wheelchair athlete*: 1st: €25 per race
*only applicable if more than 5 competitors per category

All prizes will be paid in Portwest Outdoors vouchers.
